Photographer's Note
Magic hour, when the first streetlights come on. This is downtown Seattle seen from Gasworks Park, on the North shore of Lake Union in Seattle. This site, where the gasworks for Seattle used to be, is so polluted that the ground has been removed and replaced a couple of times, and you cannot get in the water at this waterfront park. But it is a favorite place for many people and has gorgeous views of downtown Seattle and a hill that is perfect to fly kites. The actual tech data got lost due to a design flaw in the Kodak EasyShare software used to transfer the picture, so the data are as I remember it; I think I had set the ISO to 400. Processing: Adjusted curves to counter the camera's attempt to brighten the foreground, resized, no sharpening. Filtered through NeatImage. Did not attempt to correct the vignetting.

Oh, Sleapless in Seattle! Nice dusk feeling and a special composition with the street lights and the persons. Cropping out the street lights would give more concentration on the persons but loose some of the urban feeling. It is a question of if it is a picture of the two persons or a city landscape. My final meaning is that you did the right thing. Well done!

Very relaxing and most welcome pic after hectic Christmas day. Captures the moment.
Good to see another DX6490 :)

A very fine composition Claude. The light and the twilight time is well captured here. The foreground with the fence and the two people adds to a very fine total.

best thing that i liked about this photo is the dark contrast of the in focus forground and the more gray or bland backdrop of the city. it helps to make it a backdrop and not interfere with the subject and forground of the photo and yet still being able to keep enough focus to make out hte background details (ie you didnt have to use a narrow DOF)

Very nice shot, good composition, good light. I also like the presence of the people near the fence. The contrast between the dark and the light is well seen, however I would have cropped a bit at the bottom, I would say a half of the dark area.
