Mono Lake, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

I when to Mono Lake and hope to meet with couple TE member from a TE member meeting oranized by Douglas Arrasin, http://www.photo-touring.com/monolake/ . Unfortunately I didn't meet any of them with the possibility that we might passed by each others at Mono Lake. I left southern California at 10 and arrived in Mono Lake around 4 am. This is my first shot of the place under the Moon's light. This shot was exposed with 324 seconds and the noise filter was off.

Hi Phan,
Very nice shot. I like the little star trails. I can't really see any noise. Does the original large file have any? I used a D70 once for about 300 secs and it didn't pick up noise. What was your iso? I was leaving the shore line with Peter and he kept asking everybody if they were Phan. Sorry we didn't find you. Steve

Yes doug and Steve left film cameras for an 8 hour exposure> Certainly your long exposure was very successful. The moonlight looks like full day. HLJ, Pat

Hello Phuoc,

I really like this photo, especially the composition, as the mountain chain is gradually lowering from left to right. The trails of stars are catching my eye. Definitely gonna try something similar! :)
