Photographer's Note
Hello all, another image from my trip to Death Valley.
The dunes are such a dramatic place to photograph. It changes daily, from the road they look small but when walking out onto them, they are expansive. They are an easy walk from the road.

Hi Karen,
I think this is phenomenal use of the light to create this visually stunning and atmospheric photo. Death valley, a good name as the sands curves in the forground are almost mesmerising and they lead into the blackness beyond. It's dramatic and very eye catching, brilliant photo.
Cheers

Gidday dear Karen
Of all the recent photos in the Gallery, this one really stood out. So first and foremost, congratulations, it's a stunning and beautifully executed photo. The play of light and shade is phenomenal and I love the choice of the vertical format. The low Point of View has exaggerated the depth and also given us a far more artistic view of these amazing dunes. Secondly, and I don't want this to sound condescending (I certainly don't mean to) but your photography has reached such a stage of excellence. I always look forward to viewing and critiquing it.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a lovely week

Hi Karen,
I have viewed many shots of the dunes, but this one is surely among the top shots. The perspective is cleverly chosen so that the graphism effect is showed off to its best effect with the play of light and shadow. Superb shot !

Hi Karen
Hats off for this amazing pattern of sand with the low sun giving shadows and so the 3D feeling; sharpness overall, but I would have tried to get the sunlit triangle at top at 1/3 and not in the middle of the picture
Congratulations

Howdy Karen,
Attractive early morning or late afternoon view of the Mesquite Sand Dunes, enhancing the details of the flowing sand patterns with light and shadows. The vertical format allows for dominate foreground leading into the distant larger sand peak.
Well done,
Cheers,
Ray

Beautiful! I like the undisturbed sand formation, great lighting and the shadows created depth. Wonderful colors with good saturation. Very well done, tfs.
I've been thinking about going to Death Valley this winter, how far is this from Furnace Creek? Which direction?

Hi Karen
An alluring capture with lovely rich colours, subtle shadows and flowing shapes within the sand. Everything a good landscape photo needs to be, pin sharp, great lighting and leads the eye in brilliantly. There's nothing like the smoothness to awaken the artist-satisfying feeling looking at this - hard to imagine the true scale of this. Gorgeous shot, Congrats
Best wishes
