REMEMBER DUANE ALLMAN
Visiting the grave of Duane Allman was the personal highlight for me during our trip through the Deep South.
---
DUANE ALLMAN (1946-1971) was the founder and main guitar player of the Allman Brothers Band. As a musician Duane was (is) loved for his improvisation skills and his immense sense of tonality. He recorded with Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Eric Clapton (as Derek & the Dominos), but his best work is with his own Allman Brothers Band. Tragically Duane died at a very young age in a motorbike crash, just after the release their acclaimed live album, At Fillmore East.
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND continued the work, being lead by Greg Allman (vocals and keyboards) and Dicky Betts (guitar). Later the band also featured Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes, two of the best guitar players of recent years.

My WORKSHOP PICTURES show the two other Allman Brothers graves in this location, which is the Rose Hill Cemetry in Macon, Georgia.
1. BERRY OAKLEY (1948-1972), the original bass player of the band, who died shortly after Duane and in similar circumstances, Berry and Duane are buried in the same plot
2. GREG ALLMAN (1947-2017), who kept the fire going well into the 21st century, he is buried right next to the Duane and Berry plot

I've come to realize, Lord,
I ain't wastin' time no more"

Hi Benny,so only Greh Allman is survived for longtime,a very short and unlucky life for the others too but enough to be famous thanks to their musical quality. Interesting post but a bit sad watching the conditions of the tombs.Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Benny
I have to be honest, I'm not 100% familiar with the Allman Brothers Band - however, its probably one of those things where if I heard the music I'd recognise it right away. This is an excellent TE post. Its well written, its heart breaking, its a story of love and friendship along with family. Classy photo's to go along with it to. Honestly, well done. cheers

Hi Benny
Little Angel! I like this small graveyard guardian angel. The high level of artistry in this is often surprising and this looks peaceful and detached from the rigours of the wider world. Very worthy and so pleasing too.
Best regards

Dag Benny,
Ik heb de man niet gekend maar mij muzikale kennis is ook niet zo hoog.
In jou plaats vindt ik het fijn dat u een plaats kon bezoeken die u nauw aan het hart lag.
Uw foto sluit mooi aan op uw verlangens.
Prachtuig foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit Oost-Vlaanderen,
John

Hello Benny
Although I am not familiar with Duane Allman and his music, your note was informative and touching. The three pictures are excellent and invoke a feeling of peace (especially the main post). Very well exposed in difficult light with excellent colours and sharpness.
Cheers!
