Photographer's Note
This picture was taken on my property, and this is what my backyard looks like during the Fall foliage. I don't have to go far to capture the beauty of the changing leaves but timing is everything. If you capture it too early, the colors are too weak and pale. If you capture it too late, the colors are too dark and the leaves have dried too much. So, you have to check a few times a week to make sure that things are in order and that you haven't missed the boat!

Hi Harjit. I am enjoying all of the photographs of the autumn colours that our US and Canadian TEers are posting at the moment. This one is particularly striking because of the contrast with the clear blue sky. However, I am puzzled as to why you used a 1/60th shutter speed in such bright light - that may have contributed to the lack of sharpness. You don't need to worry much about DOF at this distance, so a faster shutter speed and wider aperture would have given you a much crisper and sharper photograph. Cheers . . . David
