Photographer's Note
Alright some of you, might know the great photographer G. Crewdson.
Well, In his serie American Streets, that were published in 2005 , in Esquire Magazine, He shot right in my small town of Massachussetts, So I couldn't help myself to go and take few pictures, using all the light settings he had. And here' s what i came up with.
and Here's what the final picture of the artist was.
http://web.reed.edu/gallery/images/2005-06/ovitz3.jpg
I did meet the guy couple days later (found out his temp office was across the hallway where I was working at the time down at MASS MoCA (Museum Of contemporary Art)), and even hand him out my resume...lol.
Here's for the annecdote.
Enjoy.

This is a beautiful photo Stephane.
Another photo inspired you, but you created a different composition and a very good one.
I like the light here, the rain pounding the car and the road is colored in white.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Stephane , such a nice one, looks like a movie scene, this case under the rain... The light is so great and what effect with this rain, a lovely one... it is wonderfully composed, the car is well placed in the light, a good balance in this compo...

Bonjour Stéphane,
Très très belle prise. La forte pluie et la nuit donnent une ambiance très spéciale et vraiment plaisante. J'ai rarement vu la pluie si bien capturée. Compliments.
Bienvenu et bonne continuation sur TE.

Very nice photo, the rain gives a special touch to it, and very nice colours for a night scene. Also the composition couldn't be better.
The only thing I would point out (don't take it too hard, it is a very small detail:p) is the reflex in the reflex mirror of the car (I don't know its technical term), seems a bit distracting with such bright green in contrast with the dark green of the environment, but as I told you, a minor detail

Bonjour Stephane,

Bravo

Quite a dramatic image, it's like a still from a movie. The rain is powerful & the light is good here too. Nicely done.

how about the "United States Department of Homeland Security"?
empty car on an empty place with lonely piece of luggage?

Aww that's a great capture I have hard times believing this wasn't set up : the gloomy car lights, the abandoned attaché case.
I had a look at Crewdson's pic you link to, which reminds me more of the movie "Magnolia" atmosphere, while I found yours involves more a realistic working life feel, something that smells (?!) a bit like the end of a no sales day for a sales rep.
great shot, almost south eastern asian from the rain thickness.

Hi Stephane,
One of the best rain shots I have ever seen. Belive me this one is great!! Everything is so perfect here including the rain drops, the splashes on the road, the position of the car... Good light too. Very well done!
Best regards,
Sayan

Hi Stephan. Great job. I like the light in the middle, and the visible rain, like a curtain. The effect is very good, like a theater or canvas. Thanks.
Angel.

Looks like more a painting — a poetic painting — than a photograph.
Welcome to TrekEarth, Stephane. (You stated that you were born in France, but your name sounds like Italia to me)
Thanks for such a beautiful representation.

Yes I caught on to this one thanks to Luko's critique. This is a fabulous shot, Stephane. I like Luko's "Death of a salesman" idea, I can see that. To me I see new Orleans, the French Quarter (I KNOW it's Adams, Mass...), one of those great Southern mystery movies like The Drowing pool with Paul Newman. beautifully, I should say DRAMATICALLY lit, this one takes one's breath away.
Cool,
Francis

You do yourself proud. The dome light in the car gives it some intrigue. I would have been tempted to try and limit the depth of field to just the car & briefcase. The sharp curb in the lower right foreground is distracting for the rest of the scene. You have great tone & feeling. Very well done.
