Bruges

Taken during a dark day, no rain but a little bit misty atmosphere.

The Golden Handrei. A narrow river

The Golden Handrei is a watercourse and a street in Bruges. The rei runs, as an extension of the Augustijnenrei, from the Torenbrug to the Langerei. The eponymous street is on the south bank. The Golden Handrei is spanned by the Tower Bridge and the Golden Hand Bridge.
The Golden Handrei was originally called the "Sint-Gillisreitje", after the neighboring Saint-Gilles parish in the north. Later, after 1700, the rei was named after a house in the Gouden-Handstraat.
