Photographer's Note

So much has happened since my last post on TrekEarth.

My father passed on peacefully on 24 November this year, and we fulfilled his last wishes to be buried in his hometown of Techaluta, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. This is an ancient town, long populated along a valley floor in southern Jalisco. The streets are still cobbled or "empedradas." I shot this photo a day after the burial when we visited his grave.

A fuller set of photos from my trip are available here. I still very much love this community and have made some dear friends here, and I will still post here, of course.

I'm deeply sorry to hear that, my friend.
My most sincere condoleances to you and your family.
I do know how you feel... I lost my dad too, at the age of 14. He was only 41 years old.

A big hug to you, Hermano.
I'll be here, I'll see you whenever you'll feel like posting again.

Este tipo de bonitas fotos emotivas, quitando en si la foto me gusta o no, si estб bien o no o blablablabla siempre me gustan. No es habitual y por eso me gustan.

foremost, my deepest condolences. i am fatherless myself since i was second year in college. your granting him his wishes to be burried in his hometown is commendable!

the mid and deep tones of this compo are brimming with warmth and energy; the deep blue accents add richness.

...ay Jalisco no te rajes
me sale del alma cantar con calor
abrir todo el pecho pa' echar este grito
que lindo es Jalisco, palabra con honor.....

may your dad rest in peace! Jalisco no nos vamos olvidar!
