Photographer's Note
I found this cross country skiing trail on Mt Washington while to the left I saw the morning sunlight shine upon these snow covered trees and snow drifts.
Mt Washington is located near the center of Vancouver Island and because of its location receives a great amount of moisture from the Pacific Ocean. When I was up here on Boxing day they had over 200 centimeters of snow base. What impressed me with this capture was the simple beauty and wind swept drifts on this hillside. Enjoy the view!

Hi Paul,
Very subtile, very artistic picture. The snow has a nice warm glow which makes the image very pleasant to look at. Love the light and the shadows which strikes the image...wonderful.

Superb, Paul! Vibrant composition and great lighting; well spotted! I took the liberty of doing a bit of workshop work on it, just for interest's sake. But this is a great image. Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes

Bonjour Paul,
la photo est très simple mais en contre partie très réussite. Elle montre que bien entendu au Canada il neige et il neige même bien.
Un hiver que j'envie , car ici, nous le passons en grande partie sous la pluie.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Paul,
The golden light, whitish snow, and the shades along the lovely little plants make a fantasy here..
The POV creates a fascinating flow of ice, soft and smooth...
Excellent is this morning light in snow.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, DEAR FRIEND.

Hello Paul,
The picture is good as far as the frame and composition are concerned, but it seems that there is a problem with the color of the now ? I imagine that the early morning mist is responsible for it. Have you continued later ?
I wish you a very good year in 2008, with plenty of excellent pictures - Izzet

Great snow series, some of them with blue tone and this one with a great yellow one, that give a more warm feeling.
Very well done,
Happy new year, Jean-Claude

Quelle jolie prise de vue ! nous n'avons pas la chance d'avoir un tel paysage en région parisienne.

Happy New Year Paul!
It was great seeing you Paul. Really enjoyed the morning photographing the West Coast with you. Shame the weather wasn't more co-operative, but then again- I'm thanking my blessings that my camera is still working! Hahaha.
I really like the detail you captured in this shot. Great play with the shadows and curvacious (ggrrrrr) lines. My only suggestion is to take a closer look at the 'levels' as I think you could have boosted the highlights more without losing any detail (I'll attempt a workshop when I get home).
All the best for the New Year Paul...
- Dan
