Photographer's Note

,by Two Jack Lake, in Banff National Park, to be more precise. I had some people kindly commenting on my latest photo about too colorful...Is this better?:)
Frankly, when I`m looking at the color version and the B&W one, I prefer the latter one; I uploaded the color version as a workshop,for comparison.
This version is made up of two different shots, a dark one, good for the sky and a bright one,for the forest.
It`s impossible to expose everything correctly in one shot,no matter what you do. The camera just can`t do it and you need to blend the photos either manually or using specialized HDR software. I still have to see that software which is better than doing it manually in Photoshop. I had a very good opinion about PhotoAcute but yesterday I was surprised too see a lot of noise in the deep shadow areas while doing the blending manually and using the brightest image for the very same areas the photo was noiseless...
