Photographer's Note
I came around the trail in the woods to an opening where this single tree besides the snowpath way casts its shadows across the scene. I could not believe the beauty of this place up Mt Washington. I found a place of winters beauty that prompted me to return again hopefully later this month. By then another ten feet of snow will have fallen. And if I can capture this again on a clear sunny day I will be one lucky man to be able to record it. Hope you like this!

Hello Paul,
I am pleased you have continued with this enjoyable series of frozen landscapes from Mt. Washington. I will have to check this place out when I eventually get to the states. Exquisite use of shadow and light streaking and alternating here, it is a very unique and captivating effect. The best feature I consider is the texture of the snow in the centre, bordering the left shadow. There is something about that soft yet granular section that is so incredible. The snow tracks are a nice personal touch. Did you come across any wildlife in the region or were they all hibernating?

Hi Paul. Lovely clear shapes and distinct shadows make this a strong image. The light is casting its spell over the whole scene and giving a nice texture to the snow. I love the purity and the cool feeling generated here. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Paul,
The long shadows added some depth and dimension to the scene. Very good contrast and well managed lighting with all that snow glare. Well composed with good resulting image quality. Well done! tfs

Very nicely done Paul. The long shadows creates a line to the tree itself and the snow has wonderful texture.

I really like your series on the snowy forest of Mount Washington. The snow on the trees is incredibly beautiful, and the shadows cutting across the scene really make this interesting. Nice work!

Hello Paul,
Probably one of the best of the series, I just love these elongated shadows, and the crystal look of the snow
I wish you an excellent week- Izzet
