A young woman soaking up the sun and enjoying the stunning views of Moraine Lake in Banff National Park.

People often assume photos of these lakes are altered or over processed due to the vivid blue waters, however this is very common in the Canadian Rockies due to the high concentration of rock flour in the water. Rock flour is created by the glaciers grinding down the rock during the natural erosion process. This fine rock powder is suspended in water and carried to the lakes by streams and rivers.

Beautiful composition, Dan. I like how all bows point to her, the mermaid sunning on the dock :) Though I've seen this place in photos a thousand times, you manage to make it look fresh.

As soon as I saw this pic, I knew I had to add it to my Favorite list. This is an awesome pic. I like every aspect of it - the colorful boats, the pristine water, lady in green and even the way you signed it. It is simply awesome.
