Photographer's Note
Calgary. This is an interesting city;maybe not quite for tourists because many of them might get bored here.It is interesting when you get to know it better, with all of its good and bad parts, like any other teenager, because historically speaking it is a teenager, more like a kid.
Nowadays it also feels the recession but as someone said, here in Alberta we are also on the recession wave but in the best possible ship,so cheer up:)
For techies:three raw shots blended in PhotoAcute and tweaked in Adobe Lightroom.

Hey Nelu,
Superb and clever shot...adding a different and interesting 'twist' shooting from underneath, a nice imagery to the place which shows an artsy style to the shot!
Cheers!

Hi Nelu
A wonderful eye catching photo. The blues broken by the curve of yellow. The shades of blue that is reflected in the building is just fantastic. TFS.

Hi, Nelu!
This is just wonderful! The composition and the colours are unbeatable, and you have also captured a reflection. I almost get the feeling of being small in a huge city. This goes straight into my favourites. Congratulations!
Best regards from Bergen, Norway!

hi Nelu
an city shot as good as they come: you've found the perfect contrast (and POV) to the straight and cold geometry of the sky-scrapers.

Hi Nelu:
Very, very cool. This is an extremely well-composed image and a very well-chosen subject. Such a trippy pic--love it. Calgary's a great place. A lot like Dallas--not exactly what you picture when you think of fun cool places (I think of Seattle, San Francisco, or New York, or for Canada Montreal or Vancouver), but it's a surprisingly good place to live, especially for families. And yes, Calgary (and Dallas) recession is not the same as Oshawa or Windsor (or Detroit) recession.
Anyway, nice shot.

Hi Nelu,
An image that would sit comfortably on the cover page of Architectural Digest. Superb work, I love the separation you've achieved between the blues reflected in the buildings and the sky. The differences between light and shade work perfectly.
Interesting POV, great use of the foreground piece in this superb composition.
How sharp is that camera outfit, brilliant.
Cheers

Hi Nelu
I like the repetition of the geometric patterns & shapes, the superb sharpness, & the warm cold color contrast. Good pov, too, Tfs!

Nice shot Nelu!
I'm not used to seeing this type of shot from you- I thought you were the landscape specialist, but clearly you're a man of many talents! Hahaha... I love the strong lines combined with the rich color.
I've posted a workshop with a bit more contrast which might be of interest...
All the best!

Hi Nelu,
Fantastic! I like very much the POV you chose with this amazing result! Outside this strange arch, the reflections on the buildings seem as if they were looking inside themselves, as if they were a kind of introspective beings, examining their own thoughts and feelings - representing their creators, of course. And inside the arch, the limited daily life.
No, I didn't drink anything... ;-)
I will add this picture to my theme "Stegade".
Thanks for sharing,
Docarmo

browsing through your gallery I've enjoyed your approach regarding urban subjects. This particular composition sums it all : graceful curves interactiong with straighht lines, contrasting colors that yet manage to complement each other, spectacular pov.
