Photographer's Note
Ladies and gentlemen as we approach our final destination to Charlevoix airport, I'll invite you to look through the window, on your left you can see our 4500 feet runway (ok for small jet) before we turn final and the St-Lawrence River.
On you right (this photo) you'll get an idea of the landscape waiting for you for this short trip.
Charlevoix owes its spectacular mountain scenery to the earth-shattering impact of a 15-billion-ton meteor 350 million years ago. This collision blasted a crater 56 kilometers in diameter, making Charlevoix one of the largest inhabited craters in the world!
The Charlevoix region is named after the Jesuit priest François-Xavier de Charlevoix, New France’s first historian. Long ago, agriculture, trade, and logging were how people made a living. But little by little, tourism found its niche. Now it is the driving force in the region’s economy.
Finaly, Charlevoix is divided in six Secteurs : From Baie-Saint-Paul,Isle-aux-Coudres, The Shore Road, Hinterland, La Malbaie and the Marine park road, if you never been there, I think to come a long way round worth it.
Unfortunately, in my last vacation here a few years ago, I didn't have my camera with me, I'll sure have it with me next time to show you more. Thanks for reading, enjoy !

An incredible aerial shot, Pierre. Beautiful colours and good detail in the buildings below. I like how we can clearly see the river winding its way through the valley. Very well captured.

My goodness it must be nice to be up there with that lovely view. I would have sharpened just a little to see the mountains in the distance. But from this view this is a great view. I like the green lush land..

On voit souvent le Canada avec ses montagnes couvertes de neige, les immenses forêts de sapins et érables, les lacs; mais rarement des prairies sur autant d'étendue.
Beaucoup de nuances de verts qui témoignent d'un ensoleillement.

Une très grande vue avec cette photo aérienne qui me fait découvrir la beauté du paysage magnifique traversé par le Saint-Laurent.
On remarque manifestement la concentration urbaine le long du fleuve. Belle PDC.

J'adore ce genre de vues aériennes... Quelle verdure ! Ton cadrage est agréable, et l'image et bien équilibrée. Dommage pour cette tâche en haut, sur ton capteur ou sur la vitre ? Bravo en tout cas !

Tout à fait superbe Pierre. Le point de vue à vraiment été bien choisi. Charlevoix étant une des plus belles région du Québec, je trouve que la photo lui rend bien justice. Les proportions sont parfaites à mes yeux avec juste assé de ciel et de terre. Toutes ces teintes de vert sont exquises.

Another beautiful aerial shot, Pierre. Your note makes an excellent guide to the scenery that is so effectively presented here, with the meandering river providing a very convenient way to read the lovely rural scenery. Very nice saturated colors, and great DOF.

This is a wonderful and well defined capture Pierre. Charlevoix looks indeed very beautiful. I love all the shades of green here and the way the river curves through the crater and the series of clusters of buildings. Lovely & informative note too. Very fine job!

Hello Pierre. Le point de vue est absolument superbe. Quel fleuve magnifique, et le paysage qui ne l'est pas moins. Excellent qualité d'image pour une vue aérienne. L'image est bien équilibrée, et cette grande étendue vraiment superbe.

Aerial photography is, breathtaking. There are so much one could see and learn from this composition. And the filtered glass/plastic window helps to control the bright and contrast. This place Pierre, all you need is a bike and a good camera, to get a feel of it.

On pouvait difficilement trouver meilleur point de vue pour ce panorama. Les teintes de verts et bleus sont superbes et invitent en effet à un trek aux alentours de cet immense cratère, plutôt accueillent sur la photo. J'adore aussi la note du commandant de bord : très délicate ;-) et instructive au sujet de la région et la météorite. Bravo, Pierre. Cette photo me donne un bon bol d'air frais, par l'immense espace qu'elle couvre et la verdure qu'elle offre à mes yeux.

Superbe vue aérienne à la netteté impressionnante.
La rivière structure fortement le paysage. Comment expliquer que les eaux soit si sombres à l'avant plan alors qu'elles sont si bleues au fond de la vallée ? La palette de verts est vraiment très étendue.

Beau point de vue sur cette plaine et ce fleuve qui attire le regard vers l'arrière plan montagneux. Les nuances de vert sont très belles et mises en valeur par la lumière. La composition est elle aussi de bonne facture. Bien vu et bien fait !

superbe vue panoramique prise d'avion, ce vert peu habituel aux idées que l'on se fait du canada, mais aussi il y a des printemps et des étés.... j'aime beaucoup le vue plongeante sur la rivière
