Photographer's Note

Hi Martin
Beautiful black animal smiling to you. Great coloured background, although not nice building itself ;).
Greetings

Hi Martin,
I like your picture, it has a good composition and extended focal plane. I guess the intensity on the horse is a bit darkish, but apart from that I like it very much.
Thanks for sharing,
marcelo

Hi Martin - aha, really cute, beautiful farm scenery, the horse looks too dark on my monitor though, using flash may help in this case.

Hi Martin. It looks like you have a very good sky behind you with the warm light hitting the snow. But I agree with the others that the horse could be brightened a little. Good one Martin.

Hi Martin,
Very nice composition with good colors and contrast.
I know that snow photos pose a real challenge on camera's dynamic range and is not simple to expose for highlights (which in your photo are perfect) and shadows (which came out a little dark, I agree that the horse would look better with a little more light).
This is even more noticeable with digital cameras. Maybe using fill flash can help in these situations (If not, Photoshop 'curves' or, even better, adjusting highlights and shadows in separate layers, can produce good results).
Best regards,
Carlos

Hi Martin,
Good colour and contrast with fine shadows help provide high impact for this shot. The pony is obviously enamoured with having his photo taken! The wintry scene with corrugated metal barn is well appreciated here. Well captured, Martin.

Hi Martin,
Good shot! I like the contrast between Blacky and the white snow. It's amazing how heavy the force of the snow can be, causing damage like this.

Hi Martin,
Interesting picture of nice fluffy horse. Just one comment: it'd be great to place the horse in front of the clear sky without any surrounded constructions because the horse is lost among them. And as the snow has a high ability of refraction and a camera wants to close its "hole" you need to increase the exposure to show the details of dark parts of scene. Have a nice day.
