Photographer's Note
Even if it was rainy, i struggled to find suitable subjects. This lighthouse at Étang-du-Nord (Iles-de-la-Madeleine) was a natural for this kind of weather, plus the scenery is just great. When i spotted a boat coming near, i just waited until he arrives at a good placement in the picture. It was just the living extra i needed. And then the three flying birds in the sky passed by... Sometimes, photography is just being lucky enough to be there at the right time! Or to wait a bit for it...

Tech notes : Trying to keep the camera dry and the lens droplet-free was a challenge! Post-process : i worked on the cliff with a mask layer to bring out details with levels. I used a mask because i didnt want to lose the softness of the sky. Sharpened at first with a haze removal setting of 30,60,0 on the original size, the sharpen layer was later on blend at 25% opacity, then darken and lighten USM layers on the final resize. I blurred some green grass in the lower left corner.

Beautiful!
Good composition and colors. The boat adds some perspective to the all view.
Looks like you did a great deal of post processing, but with very good results.

Well worth the wait I must say. I guess it would be even better if both the boat and the birds were a little closer. The color of the rock is really nice and it makes the picture interesting that the water is basically B&W and land colorful (colorful for these conditions). Composition is good with good proportions between land se a and sky, the lighthouse is well placed.

A lovely landscape. I like the full but still soft colors, the grey day helped you with that. The composition is well made pushing the tower to one side and adding space. The boat and the gulls fill the space and balance the tower without taking over. Very well done!

Great shot. Good sharpness, colours and depth. This image makes me think about a story from ancient Greece, but I can't remember the title anymore. Anyway, 2 points more than worth.
Pts later.
