Flag Of Summer, a photo from Dubai, West

Photographer's Note

Nothing much to say about this photo except that on witnessing this scene I deliberately composed it in three colours like a flag.
Of course the beach goers are not Arab but most probably foreign workers. The strangest thing is to take a tour of the city or walk along its suburbs and not see an Arab anywhere. The places they frequent are the expensive and luxurious shopping malls or they entertain each other in their luxurious, air-conditioned villas.
The demanding work is done by foreign labour and it is the foreigners whom one sees in less expensive shops and restaurants.

Your photograph conjures up the mood of fun and relaxation.
As you note, surprising that there are so few on what appears to be a perfect beach!
It is a text book example of thirds composition.

i didn't imagine the foreign workers keeping the Gulf countries running would have the time, or habit, to spend time on the beach. But you saw them, so you may be right. Disregarding how very strange and "unnatural" some of those countries seem to be, this is a fine photo of clear colours composed strictly according to the rule of thirds.

Hi Klaudio, Original idea to make such flag. And it gives fine background for nice beach scenes with colourful umbrellas. The guy could be Arab, but definitely not the women in swimsuits. Probably the tourists. Like Wolfgang, I would like to be on the hot beach now, even in Dubai.

Excellent composition, I like different plan of colors of the sand, of the sea and of the sky, a very beautiful effect of lights on the persons.

I like the three stripes of the sky, the sea and the beach, with a good chromatic contrast, and its nice graphical effect on the composition.
Both parasols adds a beautiful color brushstrokes, and people provide a good reference and a nice vital touch.
