Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, a photo from Dubai, West

Photographer's Note

The sunsets in Dubai are always interesting as the sun dips into the Arabian Sea. Its a sight I see everyday on my way back from work. This day, I decided to stop and take a few shots of the sea gulls that gather near the beach and feed the pieces of bread that people come and offer them. Seeing the sun dropping out of a cloudless sky, I ran to the water, just in time to see this sailboat make its way towards the sun. I know the horizon is dead centre but I wanted to retain the glow on the water at the bottom of the picture...to me the picture just works better this way..I'm sure lots of others will disagree :)

Hello Hemant,actually the central horizon works very well for me,probably because of those lovely colour bands below it.The sun glowing on the sea and in the sky is very nice indeed and the sailboat is a big plus.
Very nice shot.

the centered horizon line does not bother me as far as you have below it 2 different parts, one black silhouette and one on the contrary very colorful due to the sky reflection
Sun and boat well placed, but a bit perturbed by the presence of the football goal

personalmente penso che la tua composizione sia perfetta, perchи era doveroso inserire la lingua di acqua rossa in basso, e con il sole e la barca in eccellente posizione. naturalmente superbi i colori e l'atmosfera.

Good timely shot when the setting sun is about to touch the horizon as the sail boat entering the frame at the thirds. Wonderful color tones and atmosphere well captured, with 3 layers of diff colors from foreground to the horizotal line. The only draw back sincerely I feel the goal post should be eliminated by changing your viewpoint. Great capture.

Hi Hemant, I've got to say, Dubai isn't one of my favorite places, but you made a great image. Timing is just perfect with the sun about to disappear. Inclusion of the boat adds a peaceful fee. The goal posts don't bother me. cheers, Steve

dreamily the snapshot with the sun and the colour tints of the sky to looks like false.The existence of the sailing boat with the sun on the right balance perfect the shot.

Beautiful shot, more like a graphic design element that we sometimes see on poster or t-shirt, the color maybe a bit over saturated, but it works rather well here to create for compelling image. Love the different layers of color and shades. The mood is very well presented...and yes there is a sense of melancholic mood because of the day has come to an end. but what goes down much come back up:) If today doesn't end how will there be tomorrow.

Hello Hemant, Nice & catchy title, it could also be used for a song ;). Fantastic colours, both in the sky & reflections. the ball of fire is a real eye catcher. I see your point about the horizon, works quite well where it is, I suppose you could have cropped a little from the top but no need to. Beautiful sunset, well captured in excellent colour.
