...had enough of light and shadows, back to colours >:)...

...i was in marmaris last week for a four-day congress. the congress was okay but marmaris was better, despite the weather hotter than hell (much higher than 40C). i even had the chance to visit rhodes for a 30-hours-trip and it was the best part of the whole story...

...this shot was taken in the old town of marmaris, just below the castle, where old houses -both turkish and greek- are trying to survive...

Marmaris' main source of income for the city is tourism. As opposed to Bodrum, Alaзatı or similar Turkish coastal towns, its traditional architectural tissue has been less vividly preserved due to a construction boom of the 1980s, but Marmaris still retains its charm due to the exceptional natural beauty of its location. The district's population is estimated to reach 300,000–400,000 people during the tourism season.

Hi Korkut,

What for a successful application of korkutianistic chromatics and morphology! Very vivid tribute to the colours and the architecture of the Aegean. The lonesome external water pipe made me smile. It is such a typical attribute of the incredibly solid and elaborate construction methods prevalent in the region. It reminds me strongly of the water pipe which connects our house on Astypalaia with the public water supply.

About your Marmaris / Rhodes trip: I saw that you wrote to Emiel Skyfreak a few days ago that Marmaris and Rhodes are very different. This made me curious, what makes the big difference. OK: As far as I know Rhodes has more changeful history and a unique old town, which, I guess, is more interesting than a few old Greek and Turkish houses from the 19th century in Marmaris. On the other hand Marmaris, I think, is much greener and has got more natural beauty to show. Where is the big difference besides that though? I mean, in both places mass tourism took over long time ago. Does this not highly equalize them?

Your latest upload could not impress me, but i want to leave a comment here because this one does. It is such a simple composition, but so powerful in lines and dynamic...wonderful. The three colours are all very dominant and fitt perfectly together. Sometimes it's so easy to see things....and these are things i seldom see and that's why i like them so much seeing them from others.

Bu fotograf key to the heart'a cok guzel uymus. Bu merdivenden cikarsan iste boyle bi kapiya ulasirsin diyor. (Ayni bina mi bilmiyorum ama birbirlerine cok yakisiyorlar.) Ben de krem, kahve, sampanya tonlarindaki sakin, agirbasli evimden birden hic hoslanmadigimi farkettim. Fotografla ugrasirken kendimi once daglarda buldum, simdi de mobilya ve badana yeniligi yapasim geldi. Yarin da uzaya gitmeye, Surinam mutfagi ogrenmeye veya makrame kursuna yazilmaya kalkarim allah bilir. Eline saglik, cok cok guzel.
