Photographer's Note

Looking northeast from the southwest end of Ekmekзizade Ahmet Paşa Bridge, one can see Selimiye Mosque dominating the skyline.

"The bridge is supported on eight arches. Two of them were damaged during the Second World War, when the Nazi troops were stationed only a few kilometres from the centre of Edirne, on the other side of the river. The destroyed part of the bridge was reinforced with a temporary steel structure, and in 2007 the bridge underwent a complete renovation." (From Turkish Archaeological News)

No shortage of subjects in Edirne! The bg minarets of the mosque look far more elegant than the telecommunications tower at far right. Good sharpness and perspective. Tfs!

Hello Murat,
We see again that it's a fine bridge, especially the kapia, and the distant background is also nice. In fact you could have waited for the red scooter to come into the foreground, or you could have cropped the photo quite heavily into a horizontal shape.

Hi Murat.
The mosque with 4 minarets makes a strong focal point of this composition and the bridge leads our eyes towards it. I hope the facial masks will be soon the matter of the past. We will look at these photos like the one here with the guy on the motorbike with the mask and we will be able to tell that it was in Covid times...
