Dolmabahce Mosque, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

Another nocturnal shot of Dolmabahce Mosque at Kabatas tram terminus, conveniently located at the Princes Island public ferry dock. These are NOT the public ferry boats. They are in a private marina. This is a very late blue hour shot. I would have liked to have gotten here a little earlier, but I was still coming back into Kabatas port from Prince's Islands.

Nice and colourful picture. The reflection on the water give the photo the looks of a painting. It's not easy to take pictures in the dark, but it looks pretty sharp.

Hello Chris,
Blue hour turning into black hour, but the well illuminated mosque looks just as good and it's marvellously reflected among the small boats. It's a very well exposed photo and taken from a superb angle.

Bonjour Chris,

Les reflets de lumiиre sur l'eau sont impressionnants. La prise de vue de nuit permet de voir les dйtails de la Mosquйe Dolmabahce. L'utilisation probable d'un support et d'une vitesse lente d'exposition fait ressortir la beautй des couleurs. Bonne journйe.

Hi Chris,
very impressive nocturnal scene. The mosque has quite unique design. Also the illuminations add so much life here.
Great capture, brilliant composition.
I would just consider to use the noise filter, I use Neat Image sometimes. I think this could smoothen up the sky etc.

Wonderful combination of yellow and blue illumination of the mosque that you present us from a good angle.
Interesting foreground with the small harbour an the reflected lights between the quay and the boats.

A spectacular photo of this mosque. The golden and silver tones of the illuminated building stand out fantastically from the night sky and the blue at the windows is gorgeous as well. The darker boats make a great foreground.

Hi Chris,
Lovely view where foreground boats and background mosque are well in balance. Reflections in the water look great too. Very low light and maybe some extra saturation means somewhat grainy result, but that doesn't matter.

Hello Chris, that mosque is decorated by beautiful stained glasses, two tall minarets stand at its entrance. Good inclusion of the private marina in the fg. Excellent light management during the blue hour. Neat photo

The mosque is beautifully illuminated and looks like gold, which harmonizes beautifully with the blue in the windows. And that beautiful colour combination is reflected beautifully in the water.

ooohhh....nice one. easy to like it, easy to see why you wanted to post it. love the extra water reflection, what a bonus that was. the exposure couldn't have been very long as the boats are pretty clear and sharp. Never seen a photo of it from here before. well done. cheers
