Tigris River Panorama, a photo from Batman, Southern East Anatolia

Photographer's Note

A view from the teahouse atop the cliff overlooking what was once the Tigris River, now the Ilisu Dam. At right is the ancient Roman Bridge with a coffer dam around the support. At left is a citadel. The caves at the base have been flooded along with 80% of the town. The Zetnel Bey Tomb previously uploaded can be seen left of centre on the opposite northern bank of the river. It was shifted to higher ground by a Korean firm in 2017.

Hello Chris,
A beautiful view of the river and the surroundings fields in front of the mountain range. Excellent inclusion of the steep cliffs with the caves and the citadel in the left hand side foreground.

An amazing scene with all those ancient remains and a tragedy too with some much gone under water. Excellent composition with good placement of the citadel on the left.
