He said he wasn’t a beggar or a bum like that. He allowed me to name it as a tramp instead. His only difference he pointed is that he had a freedom of creating his own philosophy to live out. Then I asked about why he was slouching there hard by a wall of a mosque? He seemed to beg the question and muttered something like related with a confession of a transgressor. I love this biss!

This is good social doc shot that is common in many countries, a sad slice of street life well shot. I love the positioning and framing and eye contact and all the supporting props that make this shot woks. Nice coloring and lighting of a nicely observed reportage photography, a lovely personal human story indeed and this picture worths thousand words. Great shot my friend.

Interresting "reporter" picture and notes. Life allows us to meet such people and even if that looks a bit sad it makes us think. I'm sure he was happy to talk with you.
The large framing makes the man smaller and more curled up, enhancing the atmosphere.

the way you handled this theme and portrait is very interesting. The man takes so little space in the large frame and your perspective enhances the distance between him and the observer. His posture and expression are most intriguing as we will never be able to decide for sure what they mean. It's amazing how his eyes, so tiny in the frame, are also so powerful and captivating. Excellent street observation. I'm very glad you spoke to the man: too many street photographers snap away, but take no responsibility for their work. They look but don't feel. You have engaged with him, and therefore have the right to make your photograph!

I like this shot.. very eye catching..and a strong image, the tiny figure in such pose against the tall building...of course, he has freedom to develop his philosophy..and he also needs a shelter, I think. He perhaps also enjoys the freedom without one as well..

Merhaba Senol,

I'm not sure whether he was a thinker but your shot certainly turned me into one! He makes a very strong statement as he curls against the walls of the mosque. Certainly he has choice, he has his own sense of freedom but then the questions of dignity, self esteem, responsibility, creep into the equation.

Your shot reveals his mood but the enormity of the surrounding building, its strength and its clarity, somehow seem to shrink him.
