Photographer's Note
A northerly view of Sultanahmet Plaza, which used to be called At Meydanı (Horse Plaza) during the Ottoman times. The term was probably an allusion to the Hippodrome of the Roman times.
Close to the right edge of the frame is the Serpentine Column, part of an ancient Greek sacrificial tripod, originally in Delphi and relocated to Constantinople by Constantine the Great in 324. The tripod had been built to commemorate the Greeks who fought and defeated the Persian Empire at the Battle of Plataea (479 BC).

Hello Murat,
Four fairly sharp objects catch attention in various parts of the photo. They're from different times and of different kinds but all express the long and varied history of the city and its culture.

Hello Murat,
A good photo of the square surrounded by the low wall and those many trees. The obelisk is well included again, this time along with two minarets behind the trees. Well captured from a good angle.

Hello Murat,
Splendid combination of the obelisk with the Serpentine Column and with the two minarets.
Excellent capture of the Walled Obelisk in WS1. Beautiful bookmarks can be made from these obelisks.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Murat
This is the spot where a German tour group was bombed by a terrorist. There were fatalities. We were lucky to visit before / after they were there. The ancient Egyptian obelisk provides a striking focal point. Tfs!

Hello Murat
Beautiful view of this column and historical symbol. The composition of the three minarets has become attractive. The workshop view shows well.
