Photographer's Note
Situated north west of Yerevan in Armenia and west of Ani on the Turkish border, is the rural Kurdish village of Kozluca. The sole reason tourists come here is to see the ruins of the old Armenian Bagnair (Bagnayr) Monastery dating from the 10th century AD. There are 4 towns in Turkey with the same name but this is by far the most eastern. Küçük Kozluca translates to 'Little Cocoon' in English. The town is shortened to Kozluca.

Hello Chris,
It's hard to tell how interesting these ruins are, but the scenery and quite pretty, tiny village might be good reasons for a visit in any case. The minaret is well placed and the scenery looks very typical of eastern Turkey. I like the strong and vivid colours.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
In 1984 I made a trip from Kars to the ruins of the Armenian Ani. The remains of ancient Ani were particularly impressive. We were not allowed to take pictures there and were accompanied by a Turkish soldier throughout the visit. Across the gorge lay the Soviet Union (now Armenia) and officially this was the reason for the ban on photography.
The landscape I see in your picture here reminds me of the many green rolling hills of the region.
I can't remember seeing a Turkish village or the Bagnair Monastery. But if this monastery is anything like what I saw in Ani, it must be magnificent.
You present us the small village in a very beautiful composition. Very nice with the stone wall and the road curving around the houses.
The tall minaret is placed on the right spot in the photo.
Good light. Beautiful natural colours.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
A small village in rural Turkey, look as isolated and humble. But, they have a high prominent minaret. I looked it up on the Google-Map, it apperas half way from Antalya to Ankara, somewhere in the mountains area.
Good night,
Ike

Hi Chris,it's only the 3rd pic on TE from this village and all comes from your camera. Beautiful nice view of the modern mosque,no people around and a great sensation of peace and quiet, with some signs of old history too. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Bonsoir Chris,
La composition est bien divisée, le ciel, les collines et le village. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du minaret et des maisons. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hi Chris
A good photo of this small village (or is this the monastery?) backed by hills and marked by the single tall minaret.
cheers

Hello Chris.
Very beautiful composition, with this small typical village, the mosque surprises with its great minaret, for such a small site.
Very well chosen framing. I like.
You have a good day.
Luis.

Hello Chris,
There are wonderfully historic places in Turkey, away from the popular seaside resorts, which are testament to how Turkey has developed over the millennia.
The surrounding wall looks more like a boundary wall than a protective wall and those grass-topped buildings remind me of places in Scotland.
It's a fine, well-exposed photograph, pleasing colours and a well positioned minaret.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
This village is quite extraordinary. Ruins of the monastery make this special. Those few more modern buildings are in the middle of old walls and that minaret seems to pop out of nowhere.

Hello Chris,
A charming village. Those buildings with "green" roofs could have been there for thousands of years.
The name given to the village is another sign of cultural genocide. I am sure the village had an Armenian or Kurdish name. I am not too sure about your English translation, though. Cocoon is "koza." Koz is "trump." Kozlu would be "with trump." Kozluca would be "with trump, just a little" or "almost with trump."
Regards,
MT
