Photographer's Note
The main entrance to the fortified ruins of Ani, the former Armenian capital destroyed by an earthquake in 1319 AD. The Armenian border is only a couple of km away across the river, but the border is closed and relations between Turkey and Armenia remain very frosty. The horse drawn hay-rake must be going inside to remove the weeds and long grass.

Hello Chris,
Partly ruined but still impressive, giving us an idea of how magnificent this castle must have been before the earthquake. You timed the photo well to include the man and his horse pulling an agricultural tool (I don't know what to call it in any language).
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
After 700 years of surviving an earthquake, large parts of the walls are still tightly standing and show little wear and the test of time.
Beautifully photographed with the farm vehicle in front. Only the modern cars detonate in the picture.
Beautifully photographed.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Bonjour Chris,
La présence de la personne et du cheval anime la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du château Ani. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
The horse drawn hay-rake are a very antique machine, between 1930 and 1940 use in Belgium.
Excellent fortress to look at sharp and clear photographed.
Very well done, TFS.

Hello Chris,
I really like the play of light around the smooth and round shapes of the old castle. Also the warm tones make a good contrast with the clear blue sky. Well done.

Hello Chris,
Good inclusion of the man and the horse drawn hay rake on this beautiful picture of the ancient Armenian walls.
Too bad the parking wasn't out of the view of the walls. On the other hand, the cars provide a stark contrast to the old agricultural implement.
Best regards, Paul

Hello,
The presence of that man with his horse and the agricultural machine makes the scene even more authentic. Well spotted, great catch!

Hello Chris.
Impressive view of this gate of the walls and the cyclopean towers, the one on the left has ruined the upper part, which is to think that it was higher.
Excellent colors, along with superb sharpness and clarity, contribute to image success.
Very well done. I like it.
Have a nice day. Sincerely.
Luis.

Hello Chris,
The horse-drawn rake is as interesting as the fortress. You shot two birds with one camera.
