Wonderful example of getting the correct exposure for two very different light levels. The arches are a fabulously interesting compositional element -- and the gentleman's cigarette smoke MAKES the shot.
Did you try to dodge the figure in the lower right corner? I'm interested in what s/he is doing!

Hello Sue,
No doubt life has become hell for the people of this interesting city, but I have also many times wondered what has become of its fabulous historic treasures. It's a great loss to the world if they have all been destroyed.
I like this composition. It's a fine picture taken in difficult light conditions. I took the liberty of making a WS to see if I could do something about it. Hope you won't mind.
