Photographer's Note
a variation on a theme
---
The Museum of Islamic Art, which opened in 2008, was designed by IM Pei. It is built on an artificial island off Doha’s Corniche and houses a really impressive collection of art and artefacts from the Islamic world. Its design incorporates various elements from traditional Islamic architecture.
One of the best museums I've ever visited, actually. (And this comes from someone who really loves visiting museums!)
---
This picture was taken inside the museum and shows the ceiling. The design here incorporates various elements of traditional islamic architecture, e.g. the curve below is part of a circular light beam, reminiscent of those giant chandeliers in some old mosques.
The star/sun-shaped opening at the top is the highest point of the building.

Bonsoir Benny
Weird graphic and symmetric composition that needs the note to be understood.
Bravo

Hello Benny,
I am so used to seeing classical mosque photos that i feel surprized upon seeing such modern designs. The exterior photo is also nice. Very different architecture. I particularly like here how the bottom curve looks like a crescent moon. Also the light here is better than the previous version. No overexposures.
Best regards,
Deniz

Hello Benny,
This composition reveals IM Pei's genius, echoing the works contained in the museum. I did not know about the museum, but would love to see it after your strong endorsement.
Warm regards,

Hello Benny,
The only thing I can complain for is the small size of the post. Unless, I like the way you composed the shot to evidence the variety of geometric shape in this interior.
Yves.

Dag Benny,
Een mooie grafische foto, interessant omdat je de inhoud niet direct kan thuisbrengen, een vleugje mysterie.
groetjes,
Paul
