Photographer's Note
Wahiba sand dunes just off the main Muscat-Sur highway, taken 30 minutes before sunset. The colour of the dunes is naturally orange, I desaturated to make it real after increasing some contrast. This is not the most impressive part of the dunes, those are accessible only with very expensive overnight tours, these are the closest dunes to the main highway, 15 minute walk, rare thunderstormy day. Also my first experiment using a frame. I hope the photo is not too dark, my monitor settings are a bit sinister.

I like the texture and almost three dimensional quality to the foreground. The green grasses on the far hill really standout and make for an interesting addition. A few more thunderstorm clouds would have made this photo electric, perhaps even a good cover for a heavy metal band!

No, is not dark, I´m not sure about the black frame. I would say this landscape looks like a martian one, and considering what a great traveller you are I would not be surprised. Take care.

Hi tan
Another impressive shot of the dune. The lighting that provided two shade in the image is good. And the details of the front part is excellent, making this image an outstanding point.
Lastly, good use of the polariser to "tame" the sky.
Cheers and well done, Tan.

Amazing colour! The combination of the natural colour with the late day light gives this such a warm glow that it is overwhelming. The texture in the sand is great too, adding a lot to the feel of the scene. Great work!

Hi Tan, the orange tones are supreme, surreal, they are not too dark, but I'm not sure about the black frame. The textures and focus are excellent. Well seen and captured, TFS, Daniel

Great viewpoint & colours Tan. The frame is fine, although I wouldn't use that effect where it blurs at the edges of the photo - it's like a shadow (I'm sure there's a technical term for it!). But that's personal choice on my part!

Hi Tan,
This is a splendid picture and shot with your new Camera that you like it and a great one with this nicely taken eye catch view of this wonderful piece of wild golden natural light overview enquadrement stage scenery.
YOU took very well this nature moment of the day and with a fine perspective and enquadrement view scenery. The golden orange colors are a must in this wonderful sand serpentine formation and peaceful place with also a breathaking atmosphere to sit down and view the worl in all these multi forms and changing views. of a orange sit down place and multi colored flowers near.
These words of my critiquee are only my appreciation and the way I see good work like this specatular that you post at TE.
Very well seen, clear picture and a SUPERB quality work and composition. My congratulations and Best to you

Hi Tan,
Maybe apricot sands, but I think the plants in these desert are no apricot-plants.
Beautiful curved landscape with that unexpected grasses.

Hello Tan, I love the texture of this desert scene. The low angle of the light has brought out the ripples in the sand perfectly. The strong orange colour also contrasts well with the blue and white of the sky.

This does look a fraction too dark on my monitor, Tan, but I note others above have said it looks fine, so maybe I need to check my monitor settings too. I am amazed that you had to desaturate this - when I first opened this I thought you must have bumped the saturation up a bit. Fabulous contrast and shadows, and great composition as usual. Cheers . . . David

Hi Tan,
The light and shadow balance here is just amazing...it seems as if a storm is brewing in those clouds up there...would be a great relief of the desert below.
