Photographer's Note

Tel-Aviv skyline on pink-hour(changed its title after Silvio wrote this to me, good idea), minutes after sunset, view from Givatayim highest hill, my hometown which is located in the foreground.

Hope I am not repeating myself too much, but long ago posted almost same POV photo – but since than, some new skyscraper built and added to the city skyline.

Location of the "Electra" tower, the big oblong shape tower with the red neon sign atop / off-center on the picture: 32.070, 34.7941 , a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Hello Ike,

You have shown us the Tel-Aviv skyline before but it looks particularly good at blue hour. The skyscrapers make excellent contrasts against the illuminated sky and, then, there are the subtle light colours, within the city, showing us highlights of different regions. It's like taking a tour around highlighted areas of the city!

You're right dusk should be pink hour but do we call them blue hour? Nice capture of this city against the colorful sky. I like the almost silhouette of those buildings with some lights showing. Good details. Well done, tfs.

Hi Ike,

The wideness of this area of the city is giving depth to the composition. Using an ISO of 2000, a tripod and a slow shutter speed is showing some details of the highrise buildings. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky. Have a nice dya.

Hi Ike,

This is a fun side-by-side comparison of the skyline, and the differences in color and light from the setting sun. Another soothing display of nature, and a delightful foreground to accent it in contrast. The cloud formations almost look like a skyline of their own, if I squint my eyes. :) The mixture of natural and artificial light has once again produced an enticing atmosphere, and even in low light, the clarity is well rendered. skyscrapers at sunset image of this great day in the evening. picture is very beautiful and successful.
but I do not want the city filled with skyscrapers. structure disappears whole history of the city. The best example, of course, istanbul.

Hello Ike,
the view is similar but the warm hues in the sky and the atmosphere look quite different from your previous sunset picture. I like very much the sweet pastel tones of the sunset and the signs of life all over the city, the business district and the urban neighbourhoods too. There's very fine clarity and all the luminous spots are excellently defined. Congratulations and thank you!

Thanks to Silvio and yourself the photographic vocabulary is now been enriched by a new genre : pink hour !
Why not ?
Tel Aviv's skyline is also suffering under modern architecture as I can see here. Maybe not too bad but in case of İstanbul with it's more than 1000 mosques, there is a big fight between the highraisers and the minarettes !

haha...yes, this is much better :)
but i guess its all just a matter of personal taste isn't it.

for me, i really like the contrasting dark/light.
and when you can add in a peachy rosey color in the sky its an added bonus too.

Looks like a mini Manhattan from this pov! Excellent sunset verging on blue hour shot, with wonderful graphism and silhouetted highrise buildings of Tel Aviv. I like the myriad of lights interspersed throughout the city. A nice warm cold colour contrast in the sky between the pink and blue. Tfs!
