This image breaks all the rules of composition and it works! Forcing the two faces out to the sides of the frame, and having a rusty metal post in the middle shouldn't work. Cutting the two faces in half shouldn't work. But you've been brave enough to try it and I have to say that the radical composition is very striking. I like it a lot. The children also seem happy and cooperative: I wonder if you know them... Good work.
