Fire celebration ..., a photo from Tehran, East

Photographer's Note

Chaharshanbe Souri is a Fire Celebratoin Festival which is hold in Iran in the last Wednsday night of Persian solar year.

Last few years this tradition festival, has changed to a war scene (Cause of young people using light explosive devices to make loud, horrible sounds ) . But still people according to traditions, jump over the fire whispering this sentence toward the fire :
Your redness ( which is the symbol of healthiness ) is mine & my yellowness ( which is the symbol of sickness ) is yours ...

Is this a firework that is somehow attached, and when it's lit- spins around? Is that what i'm seeing?

Chaharshanbe Souri. New thing to learn. I India, we have a simmilar estival Deepawali, which literally means night of Lamps. Again the youger generation celebrates Deepawli with crackers and noise, seets and shopping. At night everbody worships Goddess Lakhsmi for health, wealth and prosperity.
