Photographer's Note
Damavand a dormant volcano with a narrow summit. Location Alborz Mountains (Lat/Lon: 35.93°N, 52.13°E). Height 18,606 feet (5,671 meters). First climbed W.T Thomson, 1837.
Damavand mount is the highest mount in Iran.
It is a symbol of Iran and Iranians. Solid in the wind of difficulties, beautiful, kind and friendly, great and glorious, ...
Those tulips are symbol of those people who has been killed in wars, terorrist attacks,... during thousand years of our history. These people are martyrs.
In the poems and literature, martyrs feed these tulips by their blood.
The area is really beautiful and peaceful specially in Springs.

Hi Nima
The colorful red poppies, in the foreground, add a lot of depth. The clouds make the mountain look like a volcano. Excellent color, lighting, & sharpness. Well done!

Muy buena foto, cargada de fuerza nacional, historia y leyenda. Ojalá que un día todos los tulipanes sean blancos, cuando en tu tierra ya no se derrame más sangre.

Hi Nima.
I read somewhere that tulips are also a symbol of Iran as this mountain is.
I like the combination between three things here: red tulips, green grass and white and blue of the sky.

Hi Nima,
Just seen this beautifully visaged photo as a feature on TE. The red tulips just on the rise of the first hill are just perfect - like a small treat for the exhausted trekker before he/she reaches the furthest rise.

Hi Nima,
What a wonderful description of Damavand. I heard about the Alborz mountains when a friend of mine visited Iran last year for business. here is a news I would share with you. The world's highest motorable road is the Khardung-la at 18038ft and I have ridden my motorcycle there. Almost Damavand top, isnt it. Long live the martyrs, seldom their blood goes to waste. They live and die for the motherland and in death they feed the tulips. Wow.
Thanks for sharing,
Greetings from New Delhi, India
