Photographer's Note
when I compare my pix with the older pictures of persepolis thatI see in the books(even the old ones), I see most of the existing parts there, are missing now .
what would you feel if you saw your heritage "vanish" & there's nothing you could do ?
PS : when I said "vanish", I didn't mean the climate or the time. I meant the fact of "stealing these pieces".there are a lot of thieves that have been doing this all these years...there are 2 options :
1. sell them to the museums around the world ( mayBthey are safe then )
2. sell them to the collectioners.
Life is harsh.

We cannot be all the time on TE, Fariba... Next week, I will not be there because I will go skiing.
Here, it is a pity that you took the picture with the sun on the wrong face. We lost details with the shadows but I see it is an a odl pix and hope there will be no missing pieces in the future.

Cadrage serré bien présenter.
L'image penche légèrement sur la droite mais la composition reste belle.
Bravo Fariba

The framing is good, the note is rather sad. Nature destroys a lot, and so do we. I did a workshop to try to get more detail out of what remains. I hope you will like it.

Nice image Fariba.
The framing and composition are good.
I wish I could see a human presence next to the sculpture, to be able to figure out the size of them.

Too bad - but the truth: If there's a buyer the also a seller still holds am afraid. Most of the pyramids in Egypt has been robt - but mostly for gold - In this case its artworks and I’m afraid we have the same problem in Denmark, Our museum use a lot of resources to secure their collections.
Nice photo thanks for sharing - may be you could post one of the old photos as workshop for compare.

Encore un très bel endroit rempli d'histoire, et toujours de très intéressantes explications. Pour ma part, un autre angle de prise de vue nous aurait peut-être permis d'admirer mieux les détails de ces portes et les perspectives. Une belle photo de toutes façons !

I've always wanted to see this place. I don't think it will be possible for me for years. But I've enjoyed going over the Univ. of Chicago's website for other views. I like your snapshots. Thanks, again Fariba.

This one is impressive and sad at the same time: impressive because of the level of detail in the delicate artwork we see here, and sad because of the stealing and destruction that you mentioned is going on. But at least I got to see this treasure in your posting, Fariba.
