Photographer's Note
Vakil Mosque
It is one of the most valuable monuments dating back to Zandieh period. It's construction was completed in 1773 AD. The said premises with an area of 3600 m2. have been furnished with large stones. Its nocturnal area or Shabestan (night prayer hall) with an area of 2700 m2. contains 48 similar tall pillars of stone with a beautiful ceiling and a marble altar that is considered to be one of the master pieces of the Zandieh era.
Masjed-e Vakil is especially famous for its large prayer hall (75 meters long, 36 meters wide) covered with small cupolas resting on forty-eight twisted columns cut out of one single block of stone.

The spiraled pillars give a kind of animated quality to the picture. Personally I would have left less space at the bottom. Thanks for sharing.

Hai Nima, you have a very nice looking and sharp photo of this place. Surprised to see such clear photo in this quite dim lighting place.

Yes, fc22, there should have been less space at the bottom. The light and shadows really give a lot of depth to this photo.

Beautiful building, well captured. I like the composition, with the rows of pillars and arches. The detail is amazing, with the brickwork clearly visible, and providing a nice contrast with the smooth floor. Well done!

Lovely architectural shot. A good POV and a good light gives a harmony in this vast amount of lines and repeated shapes. Good work. One little distraction - the shadow on the lower left.

Very beautiful mosque, with only a constructive and architectural treatment and very little ornamentation. I love that!! Thank you for sharing, your framing and the light are very well done. This one showes very well the texture and the aircraft of bricks. Regards, Youssef
