Photographer's Note

Hala Sultan Tekke or the Mosque of Umm Haram is a very prominent Muslim shrine near Larnaca, Cyprus. Umm Haram (Hala Sultan in Turkish) was the prophet Muhammad's wet nurse and the wife of Ubada bin al-Samit. Most accounts establish a connection between the site and the death of Umm Haram during the first Arab raids on Cyprus under the Caliph Muawiyah between 647 and 649, which were later pursued throughout the Umayyad and the Abbasid periods. According to these accounts, Umm Haram, being of very old age, had fallen from her mule and had died during a siege of Larnaca. She was buried near the salt lake and her grave became a sacred shrine. In Ottoman times, a mosque complex was built in stages around the tomb, especially as of the late 18th and early 19th centuries...

GKRY'de bцyle bir yer olduğunu bilmiyordum. Renkli halı ve kilimleri, зarpraz kadrajı ve yeşilli adamla yanda duran yeşil renkli yemeninin kadraja uygun simetrisiyle sıradışı bir kompozisyon. Tebrikler.

Beautiful interpretation of a Mosque ambient. The oblique view is original and attractive . The man on the edge .... is he an accessory ?

In April I also visited this Hala Sultan Tekke, a very interesting and beautiful shrine.
I like the composition with the man in the upper corner and the mosaic of colourful carpets.

love the rich colours of the prayer rugs and the mismatched alignment of them all.

The mans bright green tshirt really sets him apart and makes him a great focal point for the shot.

I would have removed the small green towel or rug from the shot to make the subject stand out more.
