‘Larnaca - Horses waiting for riders’

This time not a picture of a historical monument or of an archaeological site of Cyprus.
In the early evening I saw this carousel along the seaside avenue Finikoudes in Larnaca and found it a beautiful sight with its orange tones and with the blue sky on the background.

It has just opened for the public but there weren’t any children yet.
Later on the evening it was more succesfully but then the blue hour was over.
So I decided to post this picture.

What I saw on your first page of your gallery is impressive, so I felt I go for your last picture, for no particular reason. Fantastic shot in the blue hour with a very nice and brightly lit subject in the center of your photograph. A pity that there were no kids around, but that can happen. Very good photo job. Thanks for your critique of my Thai Wat shot from Alor Star.

Hello Paul,

The old classical carousel looks great in the blue hour!
The artificial lighting makes the golden hues stand well against the blue sky, many pin sharp details to explore...
The silhouetted palm tress make a fine details in the background!

Deze paardenmolen is ook voor lmij steeds een inspiratie bron om een foto te nemen, en zeker wanneer hij in beweging is.
Ik heb geen kleine kleinkinderen meer want anders zou ik deze ook wel eens fotograferen op een van de paarden.
Mooi kleur, gezellig voor naar te kijken zonder maar een mens te zien. Bedankt.

My grandson would be the first one for to ride on these horses, undoubtedly.
I like the lighting with orange tones of the carrousel, and its contrast with the sky at the blue hour.
It is a very original and very attractive photo at sight.

the contrast between the lights and the warm colors of the carousel and the blue sky is fantastic, you were able to obtain a really pleasant effect.
There's also the great effect created by the trees in BG. The quality is absolutely perfect.

Hi Paul,
very eye catching capture. The blue hour was probable the best possible time to do that. The timing emphasizes all the lights and colors and makes even simple things very attractive.
The palm trees behind add a nice exotic scenery.

Hi Pual,
nice the snapshot with the carousel with the horses to waiting the prospective riders.I like the hour of the capture as the tall palm trees that stand out proudly in the seafront of the city as i remember from 1983.

It is a nice classic, old style carousel.The blue background complements the brownish gold color of the carousel. You were able to keep everything sharp giving out strong carousel details. Too bad a building has to intrude.

Very fine Paul,

these old merry-go-round are very photogenic subjects especially at blue hour like here with all the lights on and the blues sky in the bg. Really a pleasant image where the row of palms adds interest and complete the scene.

Bonjour Paul,
Cette photo fait penser un peu а une toile de Dali. Les couleurs sont йclatantes rehaussйes qu'elles sont par les lumiиres. J'aime aussi les palmiers sur fond de ciel а l'heure bleue. Une photo trиs agrйable !

Des lumiиres bien gйrйes, de belles couleurs, un magnifique ciel sur lequel se dйtachent des palmiers.
Seul bйmol, l'immeuble.N'y avait -il pas la possibilitй de choisir un autre point de vue pour qu'il n'y soit pas? Peut кtre pas.

A joli picture of place every kid loves, Paul.
The lightened caroussel is in great contrast to the surrounding's and lovely palm trees on the BG.
