Photographer's Note
Varosha beach was timidly open last year, after having been off limits for 47 years. That makes its golden/white sands the cleanest bathing ocean spot on the planet, but the post-apocalyptic-looking ghost town, looted and broken, is a sad reminder of political ambitions that disregard human lives. The only sound in the huge ghost city is the banging of doors and windows in the wind and drought. Some buildings and areas are still off limits, in use by the Turkish or UN forces.

Hi Tanja,
Nice perspective with the view of the blue sea, pleasant sunlight, maybe next view for the beach and the golden/white sand as you write ...

Hi Tanja
A good photo of this very sad looking scene, a stark "memorial" about the past partitioning and troubles of Cyprus.
cheers
