Photographer's Note
Eilean Donan Castle sits at the point where three Scottish Lochs Meet, Scotland's Most Romantic Castle. In a superbly beautiful and romantic setting, Eilean Donan Castle possesses a dream like quality.
The most photographed castle in the world? Certainly Eilean Donan is Scotland's most romantic and recognizable. Although the island of Eilean Donan has been a fortified site for at least eight hundred years, the present building dates largely from the early 20th century. Today's castle, which rose from the ruins of it's predecessor, was rebuilt between 1912 and 1932 by Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap.

Hello, Stephen.
Yes, I suppose this must be the most photographed castle in Scotland. Romantic? Not sure. But this is certainly one of the very best images that I've seen of it. Wonderfully sharp and crisp and the lighting is superb. Excellent exposure too.
Great!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hallo Stephen!
A great sight! You caught this castle in a wonderful light nd very well silhouetted in front of this dark slope. The play of light and shadows in this picture is perfect. I very seldom use this word, but this one is a masterpiece! Great!
Greetings from Germany - and have a nice Sunday!

Bonjour Stephen
Très beau cliché de ce château niché au creux des montagnes bien éclairées. Peut-être est-il hanté comme certains de ses semblables en Ecosse ?
Bon travail - merci pour le partage et bon dimanche.

Marvelous view! Everything works perfectly here, the position of the castle and lines of the lanscape creating a very pleasing composition, the light setting on the walls and green hill side, the beautiful warm, natural colors. And I envy you for being there as well, in that beautiful place.

Ioana

Hello Stephen.
What a postcard! Really well captured with great colours and contrast. Good light all over the photo. Maybe a little sight of the sky would have been nice. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Stphen
Well the reason why this is made the most photographed castle is sitting right in front of me. Wow what a POV and scene you have captured. Well done.

I have to say that this is one of the best shots I've ever seen of this famous and often photographed castle. The lighting is what makes this special, with the castle in the sun and then the trees behind it in shadow, so the castle stands out very well. The hilly area behind adds a lot to the scene too. Very well balanced and masterful work!

Hi again. Have been travelling in Europe and had little opportunity to sit down and do TE stuff. At last, from Auray in Brittany, a net connection that works.
Had to comment on this as I am of course a McRae and have visited the castle 4 or 5 times over the years. Amazing clarity, sharpness and colouring on this shot. Really nicely composed, leaving out most of the little bridge for once. And yes, this does look like the best shortbread tin I've ever seen. Great shot.
Regards,
Andrew
