Photographer's Note
Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me
Hey you, standing in the aisle
With itchy feet and fading smile
Can you feel me
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight
Hey you, out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me
Hey you, with your ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone
Open your heart, I'm coming home

If you know or like this song and the artists, you will appreciate the note a little more.
By taking this picture, I am trying to capture the emptiness that I sometimes feel going about my daily business in England. We British have a personal boundary with space and emotion...much unlike the Indian culture who are used to living in close quarters with eachother and are not afraid to express themselves through touch and physical closeness. I noticed this espcially whilst travelling on the trains in India, where some young lads were sitting on eachother's laps and had their arms around eachother. Here in the UK, this would just be "too weird!".
Just a thought...

Hi Kajal,
This is a good photo which says exactly what you wanted it to, and I like the heartfelt note as well!
I couldn't agree more......
It's a pity the man's left hand isn't in the photo, but this is a minor point.
best wishes
Brian

Your observations India/UK are spot on .....and not! Think about the rules in India about who can touch who and who can occupy which space (or even time) there are some heavy restrictions still for people at the lower end of the social scale - for me in India this was so difficult to accept after all the struggles against and (continuing) debates about racism and negative prejudice here.
...and then you are right and not about this British personal boundary space - as a generalisation yes - but so many contradictions to this - e.g. places where people are bonded (sports for instance), males and females dancing - from folk dance, to ballroom, to bhangra!
...but yes your observation is still spot on - the difference between India and the UK in general social/daily life is stark (perhaps even starker with somewhere like Poland in the winter) - your picture illustrates this so well and a great take on the Pink Floyd lyrics too. Technically I think the image can be improved and it looks a little oversharpened by the ghosting on the guy - I made a workshop - but nice all round TE work Kaj.
I've had an idea too!! At work people hate it when i say that! `Be in touch.
best wishes Kev

Superb!
You got it just right! There is something capturing about this picture. The lonely feeling is screaming to you in this picture. The expression on the mans face, and the two people passing each other woithout seeming to notice each others existence. What also made me like this picture is the setting where it was taken. Two people in some mall or public place - technology, western civilization, shopping bags - but no human contact.
I love your work with this one!
Also, about the missing hand - i think it adds to the feeling in this picture - it makes the picture more genuine, i think. If it was too perfect, you would suspect an arranged photo, which would have taken some of the magic away from it.

Hi Kaj,
It is one of your nice photos. Composition is great and sharpness is well. Two stairs is in the middle of your photo to improve your photo. Other than these a bit technical comments, as for your thoughts and notes;it is nice note. It supplies your photo. You give your message with your photo. B/W is a good choice to strenghten your photo with you note. Hope all the civilizations in our world won't be like this. Hey you, congrats...

I think i have got your story ,in the right sense this time. The shot very well explains the story. The man's expression underline the fact of personal boundary. The sharpness of this capture makes the story well readable.
Wonderful composition in B/w. TFS

HI Kajal,
Great composition and very nice framing. Good light and nice contrast. Very nice your captured the man and woman, side by side, without paying attention to each other. Just living their lives and emerged on their own thoughts.

Hi Kaj,
perfectly catched, and the timing is perfect, did you have to wait long to have this symetry? Love it

Hi Kaj
Well done for perservering and your photo shows a great result. The symmetry is there and b&w suits the mood and adds to your detailed note. The only improvement I suggest is to eliminate the glow around the man and the woman.
As a photographer, you have to be determined to get the image you want and it's a pity you were asked to leave the shopping centre.
Keep posting!

I can't give bad comments to such a note and such a title can I?
But seriously, the photo is awesome. The composition and the idea are very interesting. Good job in waiting that they were exactly at the same height. I also think the framing of this photo is very good. The b&w suits it quite well.
Good work

Good B&W shot, very 'minimalist' which really gets your point across as regards space & boundaries. And the Floyd reference is good too.
