Photographer's Note
Street Shots From Nottingham - 1
At two particular spots on the Mansfield Road coming down the long hill into Nottingham city centre I noticed two places where the buses really caught the sky and clouds much more clearly in their front windows. I chose this place as a busy intersection because I could almost get a bus full frontal from the roadside without having to be in the road.
The collection of characters on the top deck looked as if they had never seen a camera before - I found them really quite humerous in their reaction.
This is the first of a short series from the city.

We're kind of running around the same patch today, Kev - bewildred punters in front of our feeble efforts to "record life scene for posterity", eh?
Very nice, colorful, tight framed image with some nice reflections across the glass. Multilayered, multi level, double decked.
Very nice work with a very sweet note. I'm already excited about thes rest of the series.
Best,
Francis

Indeed humorous...
:)
With this kind of reaction, I would say they saw an alien walking around in the city (or should I say, that is what an alien would see walking in Nottingham city...)
;)
Good timing and capture, with the excellent tight cropping of the front bus...The reflection make it hard to identify the reactions of the two left most passengers (and also of the bus driver) BUT, it also enhances the reaction of the right most guy...he surely looks like he saw a ghost! LOL!
Well, thanks for making me laugh - sure helps keeps one sane through the day...

Hey Kev. Good shot, simple, distorted elements. I like the green line and the man's fearful expression.

:-) Hello Kev, What a candid shot, great framing and a very fresh approach, love the composition's near symmetry. THere is something interestingly lyrical added by the clouds fused with these faces, the driver's hands on the big wheel. Great shot, very well seen!

Hi Kev.
Eh eh eh...the bus crushed you? ;)
I like your choice of framing on this bus....excellent.
The green parts, the attitude of the guy on the right, the reflects....very original.
Good idea.

Hi Kev,
Interesting capture, the reflection seem to add depth and another dimension to the flat perspective.Surprising view,I´m looking forward to your new series.
Have a nice evening,

Hehehe.. you have collected a nice bunch of intelligent looks on these faces ;-) I really like the reflections here. The people seem to be covered by a plastic foil and remind me of goldfish in small transparent plastic bags that I saw in pet shops in Hong Kong...
I just wondered what the picture would look like without the coloured part on the top, so I did a little cropping in the WS. For me, this crop makes the picture even more weird. Best wishes, Michael.

Hey Kev,
tight shot, great framing. The reflections arent too bad and we can make out the faces clearly. I like the urbanity in this shot very much.

Bonjour Kev,
Très original cliché, je me suis d'abord demandée si ce n'était pas un assemblage de trois éléments...mais non, bonne idée ce cadrage serré vertical.
Beau travail de recherche.

Hello Kev,
This is fantastic..:)) The impression of the guy at the right really gives a thought that he really saw a camera for the first time..
And the deformation of sky and clouds on the windshield of the lower deck look so different.
Well done and thanks for sharing...

beautiful vertical composition..colours are gorgeous too..
a great catch Kev, you had a great eye here..
Ps. i would love to see the driver actually..
i know reflection plays a big part in here but i wonder how it would look like with a polarizer as well..
best wishes.

This is really one of the most original shots I have seen on TE so far! The reflections in the windows of the bus create a great effect and the people in the bus indeed look like they had never seen a camera before. Especially the guy on the right hand side seems a little scared of you ;) It is always a pleasure to look at your photographs!
