Reading Between the LInes

September - walking along the banks of the River Trent in Nottingham - across the wide stretch of river this lone figure reading set me thinking about what book he was into - I guess you just don't see so many guys sitting out reading these days. why was he sitting there alone - what did he need to learn this Sunday morning?

across a wide river -
this month of the falling leaves
turned one by one

.....and then I remembered the French obsessive form of the villanelle and couldn't resist a little light dabble!! ;-))

Learning About Love

Idling in September sun
I sit to read and fill my head
I wonder still if you're the one?

My memories so full of fun
my future thoughts now full of dread
Idling in September sun

I dreamt it was your heart I'd won
but waking found you gone instead
I wonder still if you're the one

mother's words, to a distraught son
"nothing's meant if nothng's said"
Idling in September sun

I call you - to see what can be done
the ninth time now, the line is dead
I wonder still if you're the one?

Now I see - love alone leaves much undone
it's in this book which I've just read
idling in September sun
I wonder still if you're the one?

,,,,,but as Jerzy just said it's probably just chill out time! :-))
