Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,,
If you have seen my previous photographs, you will know that I have been watching the development of the nestlings in our garden tree.
My photograph shows one of the hungry nestlings demanding food!
However, the story took a twist in that one of the nestlings was later found running around on the lawn. It wasn't able to fly, just a little flutter, and had probably fallen out of the nest in its haste to get food. I show a photograph of it in my workshop.
It was extremely vulnerable to our neighbours cats!
We were unsure what to do!
At first, we kept watch but were unable to spend all day on guard!
It fell in the water of our pond and we had to save it!
At this point, we decided to capture the bird and return it to the nest!
Mummy starling made a lot of noise but then things calmed down.
The nestlings have had time to develop their wing feathers and will soon fly the nest!
Have a lovely Sunday, Bev :-)

Ciao Bev,bad adventure for the little one, who fell into a dangerous area because of the cats and who also risked drowning. For now he is safe, maybe you will also offer us a third episode of this adventure from your garden, for now congratulations for the really excellent photos. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Good job saving a starling chick, Beverley, it was easy prey for cats.
Nice close range photo upon the hole in the tree, perfect hiding for young birds, and fabulous opportunity to capture a starling from such great focal.
It is very different from starlings I ever seen.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Bev,
That is quite a thriller you describe in the note. I hope the young starling was not traumatised for life by its experiences and that the mother didn't try to attack you. There are lots of seagulls in my area and they can be very aggressive if you come near a young gull walking on the ground.
This photo is well timed and the WS are interesting complements describing the nestling's adventure.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
You have captured well the action of the Starling mother feeding the baby bird. The point of view is showing with precision the details of the birds. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hi Bev
I have been watching your starling saga and have found it very interesting. You have managed to capture them very well in each image, clear and full of action.
Tdays description was full of drama but thankfully you managed to rescue the chick and return it home.

Hello Beverley, you did your good deed for the day by helping to save the young starling.
In the w/s shots the young bird looks quite bemused by its adventure.
Three excellent pictures that brings your saga to an end.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Beverley,
Again the young starling looks pretty angry, even though one of its parents had just found something to eat. An excellent impression of this encounter between the two. Very sharp and clear.

Hi Bev
This one is so demanding that it does need to be kicked out to find its own food. Good main photo and cute WS ones with the young one on the ground.
cheers

Dear Beverley,
It is a worthy finishing piece of the saga, have to say it would sell as a nature photo at a competition.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Bev, Wonderful series of photos from the life of this nestling. You were very lucky that you could observe it and take photos. I love cats but they have their instinct and they hunt not only for the mice. Once I saw a small bird in my garden, it couldn't fly yet. Later that day I saw a neighbor's cat with some feathers.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Beverley,
So you put the little bird back in the nest and the parents took care of the young bird again. That is good news. I kept hearing that this would make no sense, that the parents would no longer take care of their young. Fortunately, that is not true.
The photo is taken on the perfect moment!
Perfect sharpness.
Well done!
Best regards, Paul
