Photographer's Note
We had a lovely Queen’s jubilee weekend with a really nice weather, so in addition to the walk along the river, photos from which I have recently shared, on another day we have also met our new friends. We met them for the first time on holidays on Boa Vista. This time we met with them in Whitby (in this photo) and since they never visited this town before we felt as local guides. Ironically, we Polish people were guiding English people through one of the most popular seaside towns in England. I have showed several photos from Whitby before. I hope this is not the last one ha ha. In few minutes I will undergo a surgery under general anaesthetic, so please cross your fingers for me.

Hi Mariusz
A great view of Whitby from the sea. A few years ago we walked up to the Abbey, no signs of Dracula!
Take care and I hope all goes well with the op.

Hello Mariusz,
How good, that were interested in being guides to native visitors to Whitby. You are very familiar with Whitby so would lots of interesting information to share, as well as being a good guide!
The church, art the top of the steps makes a great, secondary, focal point, whilst the boat draws our immediate attention.
I love how the terracotta roofed cottages set the scene and help to portray the character of Whitby.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz,
What a wonderful view of the town with the church and the ruins of the abbey on top of the green hills, which are also a great background for those charming houses. The sailboat is a great inclusion as well. Isn't Whitby also the place where Dracula arrived in England in the novel? In that case there is a clear link between this photo and some of my recent posts!
Good luck with the surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery!

a marvelous village. amazing the robust church above and the ruins of the abbey ahead. why they don't use it instead of destroy it ? excellent the sailing boat adding life and movement to the compo.
I hope you will get the heath troubles solved after the procedure. I used the general anesthesia during an examination of intestines few weeks ago.
take care

Hi Mariusz
A great one from Whitby with its 3 distinct layers - water and boat; the houses (holiday ones?); and the old complex on top of the hill.
cheers and hope the procedure went well - we can't afford to lose TE members.

Good morning Mariusz,
A wonderful seashore scenery from Whitby, well divided from the seascape to town houses and the castle on top.
Contrast, scale and clarity as always, superbly rendered.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Mariusz.
Sensational composition with this view of the city and the line of beautiful houses near the sea and sheltered by that kind of cliff, which shows in its upper part the magnificent structures of what I suppose the castle and the church. The sailboat near the coast gives a nice marine touch.
And quiet in that surgery everything will go from fable.
Both the color and the luminosity of the photo are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the composition.
Very well done. I like it
Have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz,
I don't know if many of my compatriots know Whitby but thanks to your earlier photos I recognized this place immediately.
No wonder it has become one of the most popular seaside towns in England.
And of course not every Engelman has been there. In my small country there are also still beautiful places that I have to visit for the first time.
People who don't really like to travel claim that you need to know your country well before you can visit places further afield. I answer that you have no yardstick to judge your own country if you have not visited enough other countries/cultures.
Splendid postcard from Whitby!
Best regards, Paul
