Photographer's Note

I found Christmas at Kew to be an unforgettable show with lots of photo opportunities for patient photographers (sometimes you have to queue to get the best pov but I found it fun rather than annoying; especially that nobody seemed to mind my tripod being in the way). Here you can see an image of a Christmas tree projected onto the fountain in front of the Palm House.

Two more images in WS. It was very difficult to decide which one should be the main upload. What do you think of my choice?

Witaj Kasiu, Wszystkie trzy zdjęcia sa sympatyczne i w sumie podobne. Podoba mi sie ta ciemna sylwetka przed oświetloną oranżerią w Kew.
Fantastyczne kolory i świetna ostrość nocnych zdjęć.
Ja Tobie tez życzę wspaniałych, pogodnych i zdrowych świąt. A nie będziesz w Warszawie?

Hello Kasia,
It's a hard choice you give us. These photos are all so bright and full of amazing atmosphere. The colours of the WS with the "gifts" make it close to surrealistic, while this and the red WS are more like Christmas "the good old way" with a bright tree and a snowman. Depending on my mood for the moment I would enjoy them all. But they are all very far from the Wakhan corridor... (You must have seen lots of elderly men with white beards there) ;-)

Hello Kasia,
A beautiful photo of the Christmas tree with the sculpture in the foreground and the palm houses behind it. The colours of the tree make a great contrast with the bluish lighting around them. Merry Christmas.

I do like the WS photo with the illuminated presents, but I'm glad you chose this photo as the main post. I can add it to my theme of Christmas trees for 2019. :-) This is a different kind of tree, and it looks lovely on the spray of the fountain, with the small statue in front of it. Hello Kasia,

I was wondering where you would be for Christmas.
Kew would seem to have been the perfect place to visit for colourful, Christmas night shots, as well as an unforgettable experience!
I like this very much, the silhouetted figure holding main attention but my favourite is the line of Christmas presents. This one holds attention, as we follow the trail (like eager children) to just the glimpse of the temple. It's magical!

Three excellent photos of this event. Not easy to choose between the three. Your main photo works perfectly and it is a nice composition where the fountain is well placed nicely balanced against the tree in the right portion. Splendid colours too. Great night shot and a wonderful choice for the occasion.

Wow that is quite a view. The tree is very nice reflects from the fountain. Always tough to get that one next special shot and then post it here hoping kind friends will shout how nice it is. Shouting: "I like it".

An outstanding and irritating photo opportunity. At first I guessed to see a real tree with its lights diffracted by a water curtain. Excellent with the statue in the foreground.

as Gert mentioned, its hard to choose, but I do really like the WS's with the Christmas boxes :) Hard to pass up on that. I like all Xmas themed shots, but the best one's are the unexpected kinds - sort of like this one. The one I posted and the one i will post later today are more traditional and boring. This is cool with the blues and the Tree colourfully displayed on the scene. Not sure what's going on with the people here hahaha...but hey, its Christmas lol. have a great one :)

moje ulubione zdjecie to chyba to z prezentami.
Jest tam wiecej koloru: dekoracje na pierwszym planie i troche architektury w oddali.
Tutaj z kolei interesujace widowisko.
Dwa lata temu w Disneyworld mialem okazje doswiadczyc podobnych swietlnych iluminacji.
Ja osobiscie wole widziec wszystko w naturalnym swietle ale tego typu wydarzenia sa ciekawostka jesli chce sie zobaczyc znane sobie miejsce w odmienny sposow. Nie tak dawno pokazywalem np zdjecie Whitby Abbey w przedziwnych kolorach. Mysle ze to piekne ze tyle przedziwnych wydarzen organizuje sie w Anglii, wydaje mi sie ze w Polsce jest tego mniej.
Doskonala ostrosc na sylwetce fontanny. A w oddali rozpoznawalny zarys szklarni.

This is the Eldorado for photographers. A wealth of possibilities for spectacular photos in a Christmas atmosphere. Only a good photographer is needed for the best results and that is what you a are.

Kasia, a light show was organized for Christmas in that park. A Christmas tree is projected on the fountain water jets. It is reflected on the water. The building in the bg is superbly illuminated. Fine colors, good sharpness, excellent light management by night, regards.
