Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
I'm not sure just how interested people will be in my three photographs, today, though I know some will be fascinated.
Last year, we visited Liverpool, just before Christmas, to see a performance by 'The Bootleg Beatles', at the Philharmonic Hall.
To make it an unforgettable few days, we stayed at the 'Hard Days Night Hotel'. This is a beautiful hotel completely dedicated to the memory of the Beatles.
From the Internet - The concept of a Beatles inspired hotel in Liverpool has been prevalent amongst Beatles enthusiasts in the city since the late 1980's. The choice of a suitable location and the finances to make the vision a reality only came together in 2004 when hotel plans were finalised.
From the early stages the objective was to create a unique environment that offered high quality hotel facilities with an exciting and interesting 'twist' in the clever presentation of a theme that would be both subtle yet challenging in the way that the incredible story of the Beatles was told.
The hotel is a 'Grade II' listed building dating back to 1884. Designed by Thomas C Clarke, what was known as Central Buildings was constructed in a classic design with imposing marble columns a feature of the front elevation and the internal staircase. Situated within what was the original business district of the city, the building will have housed a number of merchant interests at a time when Liverpool, as one of the world's major seaports, had a prominent international trading role.
Central Buildings could well have been a tourist destination of a different kind as, during the Second World War, it was designated the backup location for the allied command head quarters in the city during the Battle of the Atlantic.
As the Hard Days Night Hotel this landmark building will now play a key role in sustaining the city's burgeoning reputation as a major tourist destination within the UK.
As my photographs show, huge photographs of the 'Fab Four' are placed decoratively around the hotel.
In my opinion, the photographs, the lighting and the deco are perfectly in keeping. There is nothing kitsch about this hotel.

Workshop 2 here.
I hope you enjoyed the journey to Liverpool, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
If I were ever to return to Liverpool (haven't been there since 1964), this could be the place to stay. These photos (Ringo twice!) are nicely framed by the marble pillar and a slice of the white wall. The lamps don't hide any essential parts. The WS are nice additions (and mainly show Ringo again). All photos are well exposed in what I imagine was not a perfect light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Bev,
Après avoir regardé tes trois photos, c'est certainement celle-ci que je préfère. C'est aussi Paul que je préférais à John et les Beatles que je préférais aux Rolling Stones. C'Était une très belle époque comme c'est une belle photo.
Amicalement

Hi Bev,very nice memory of the last year about your days in Liverpool. The city of the Beatles and it's a very interesting thing to see the 2 perspectives showing the members of the group in these wonderful perspectives. Something of Christmas days only in the other WS,and i like the very rich composition with the Beatles on the top. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
A very nice capture of those photos of the iconic Beatles. I like the black & white of the photos and the warm colours around them. Good composition too, good inclusion of the pillar on the left hand side.

Hello Bev, A few years ago I went to Liverpool a short time before Christmas. At first, it seemed to me that going in December to England is crazy, but then it was a fabulous trip. It happens to me quite often :). I was so happy to look for the traces of the famous four. What a joy to see the Beatles. Nice pictures and lovely memories for me.
Kind regards Malgo

Hello Bev,
I immediately remember the visit to the Beatle museum in Liverpool last year, but (unfortunately) we didn't stay at the Hard Days Night hotel.
Your photos bring back good memories of the Fab Four who only performed once in the Netherlands.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Bev,
For such a geographically small country, the UK produced. and continues to produce. a phenomenal amount of top quality pop stars, with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard & the Shadows, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, T Rex, Slade & so on. I like the curved angled appearance of the wall. The pale yellow light has given the b&w photos a sepia tone. Tfs!

Liverpool has made the most of its history concerning the famous four !
Thank you for this interesting post about the 'Hard Days Night Hotel' . What a good idea to give yourself the treat of staying there fior a few days !
I like the style they have used to decorate the hotel : Sober, pure lines and photos in this old building.
Thanks for sharing and kindest regards.
Marie-Louise.
