Photographer's Note

This photo may not strike you with a typical postcard composition but I was really tempted to use my favourite Postcard from title here. Even though searching under Thirsk you may find on TrekEarth a number of photos, there are so far no photos from this town itself. I think many British people at least heard about this town because it is in the North East of England frequently signposted as a direction. If you pass the motorway near it, a brown sign will also indicate that Thirsk is a worth visiting historical market town. Indeed last Saturday I have visited this lovely town hoping to take a photo of its photogenic clock tower. Unfortunately, all the time I was there the clock tower was being wrapped around with a beautiful hand made poppy decoration. It took a while so instead of photographing the market itself, I walked to the beautiful St. Mary Church dating back to 15th century (in this photo).
