Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I have been away for what feels like an eternity, visiting friends and holidaying but I hope to have a little more time now, for TE, and will have lots of photographs to share.
Until I have time to process my new photographs, I will share another photograph from Falkirk.
This was one of my favourite photographs and I hope you like it, too. If you look at the photograph here on Beta, you will be able to see the details of the construction very much more clearly.
I was hoping to create interest from the negative space as well as interest in what I was photographing.
I'm sure you will recognise the Kelpies.
The material from which they were made was a surprise to me so I hope I have revealed their construction and their textures, to those who have not seen the Kelpies in person.
I will add a workshop showing a more conventional view.
Enjoy your Sunday, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
I am looking forward to seeing your Dutch pictures, but in the meantime it is great to see another shot of these amazing and huge sculptures. The textures and details look great and are clearly captured. Wonderful composition, too.

Hello Beverley,
I really like this pov of the sculptures, with the head of the fg horse framing the upraised head of the bg horse. Good sharpenss and repetition of the rivets and patterns. Tfs!

We look forward to your work, glad you had a nice break, we all need it from tie to time. Now to this photo. Part of your collection on this art. I like the shape of this perspective view. Almost like mother and colt. Can also see the individual metal shapes that make up the entire statue - showing a lot of work to make this. The support structure underneath must be equally difficult to engineer. Very Cool Bev

Hi Bev.I can wait for your new photos, but I've already seen a great preview on facebook from Durham, the Roman site is really beautiful. However you did well to post these new perspectives from the famous silver horses, very original and of the highest quality. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Bev,
Welcome back. I had expected something totally different from your recent journey, but today's photos show once again that these horses can be used for as many compositions as imagination allows. Here we see one horse and one surface of abstractly shaped metal pieces. In the WS the abstract pieces come alive. I understand that you have so many more photos of these fascinating sculptures.
Best wishes,
Gert

A very interesting POV and smart crop. It is hard to imagine the size, but the screws which are connecting the plates give some scale. Well lit and perfectly composed. The small bird in the corner is a very nice extra..

Hi Bev
Oh man, I can see myself spend SO much time here, changing out my lens from my extreme wide angle 8-16 to my regular lens 20-70, and to even my zoom lens to really get in close for fun shots too. its great that you DIDN"T clone out the seagul :)
and I love the way you composed the scene, having only have the horses face up front, I really like that, smart choice! its so effective. love seeing the individual sections too. cheers

Hello Beverley,
This is a very nice close-up of the Kelpies.
Good view of the construction details.
To me it seems as if they are composed of Chinese characters. But a Chinese will certainly not think so :)
From close up I notice the nice streamlined movements better.
Excellently cropped image.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev,
I am sure you had a great time in the Netherlands.
I am looking forward to see your reportage from the trip.
This is an amazing structure here indeed. Great series of photos. The closer on allows us to get a better feeling of the texture and details of the construction while the further is well seen in all its splendour.
Great composition.
Excellent work,
M

Hi Bev
You've spent a lot of time around those metallic horses to find some new points of view. Dull sky but in accordance with the material.
Cheers

Hello Beverley,
A distinct clear picture with great close-up to the known horses.
Each rivet and the iron plates seem in fine manner, and overall is a magnificent art object.

Another great composition with these interesting giant horses, now showing better the details of the structure that looks like a big puzzle! The details are perfectly sharp! Wonderful job!

Hello Beverley, an excellent composition of the two kelpies. Yes, the negative space is a vital component of the shot.
It’s great that we can see the way that the kelpies were constructed.
Thanks for sharing, Jean.
