Who is the dame?, a photo from Devon, England

Photographer's Note

First of all I apologise for the quality of this shot, as the gentleman dressed as a dame was walking quite quickly and I didn't have time to 'pan' the shot.
I took two pictures of him, but this one shows more of him in his strange outfit. The follow up shot is in the workshop.
You can just glimpse a part of one of the dancers that were following him/her in the parade.
I saw the dame walking in the town before the parade, a rather unusual sight!

I liked the expressions on the faces of the spectators!
Taken at the Sidmouth Folk Festival, an event
that lasts a week every year in August.

Hello Jean,
A great shot of this dame in a very colourful attire. Maybe he is not entirely sharp here, but now we get a great look at the people and their facial expressions on the other side of the street.

Hello Jean,
A dance festival justifies anything, otherwise this man would have received much more surprised looks. I suppose he was member of a troop, or did he just use this event as an excuse to live out his secret dreams? ;-) He is very eye-catching, to say the least, and the not perfect sharpness is excused. He required a quick snapshot.

Hello Jean,
A very striking figure in a public place.
Of course a man dressed as a woman will demand attention. But the colours make it clear that this is the intention. The facial expressions of some spectators are marvellous.
However, the man's shoes did not fit in the whole. He still needs to learn a little :)
I wonder if there was such a whole dance group present.

A brilliant note and two wonderful photographs to accompany it!

Who cares if these photographs are not pin-sharp? Because I've really enjoyed examining not only the rather strange garb of this "dame" but I was also fascinated to read the menus displayed on the fast food outlets in the background - and I dread to imagine quite how unhealthy a "Sidmouth Fatberg" might be, and what might be its saturated fat and calorie content?

Ha! Ha! Jean, he looks more like the dame straight off a pantomime stage than a morris dancer! He was possibly taking part in a dance, as we can see the feet of a performing dancer to the left, but in your swiftly taken shot, he takes the part of an eccentric man, walking the streets of Sidmouth, being paralleled by a disabled man walking with a support system. Were it not seeming disrespectful, they could be a duo!
Well spotted and swiftly captured! Such speed can be forgiven for not being perfectly sharp.

Jean, funny picture taken during the Sidmouth folk festival. This man is dressed as a dame, it has an extravagant and strange costume. He makes smile the lady standing at the crepes and donuts shop. The interesting background gives a glimpse to the festival atmosphere.

hello Jean, Eyecatching shot with this guy dressed as a strange lady. Funny how he goes with this dust sweeper. On the left side there was strange character in funny stockings. The Workshop is also very interesting. We can have a glimpse at the food served there.

Hello Jean I first thought of Bonemine in the french edition of Asterix le Gaulois, who used to wait for her husband, rolling pin in hand, when he came back home late at night!! Strange but attractive oddity, for sure, given so much colors!! Cheers
