Spring is really here, a photo from Devon, England

Photographer's Note

I was out this morning and came across this beautiful flowering tree, a cherry I think. (Please correct me if you know otherwise)
It was absolutely full of blossom. I couldn't resist taking a few shots, and I was pleased with the results, so I thought that I would share them with you today.

Taken with my iPhone.
Two more shots in the workshop.
And note how blue the sky is, no saturation needed!

Hello Jean,
I first thought this was in B&W, so I wondered why. But now I see there are quite many colours here, although most of them rather discreet. The flowers are beautiful and the small patches of blue sky reveal what a nice day you had. Similar shots in the WS, but #1 gives more prominence to the fine weather. All three photos are very nice to watch.

This looks like a cherry tree indeed. Every flower in spring brings joy. I haven't seen the flowering trees this spring yet. But my forsythia is all yellow. Charming composition.

Great burst of springtime and blooming beautiful! I really like how this is lit, they seem suspended in space and I think the lighting really plays a part in that as nearly every bit of each flower is very well lit. Excellent use of selective focusing where the petals look so delicate! Lovely close up work and tx for this taste of spring! Well done.

A very pleasant composition to which the well managed light and shadow contrasts contribute much by way of mood. The white flowers are seen in superb detail and contrast nicely with the little patches of blue sky.

Beautiful focus on these delicate flowers. The ones in the middle look wonderful with the combination of light and shadow falling on them. I'm no expert in flowers, so I'm not sure exactly what type they are, but they are definitely lovely to look at. :-) We won't have cherry blossoms here in NYC until late April, and ours are always pink. It's still fairly cool and damp over here, but spring weather should arrive soon.

It is a good idea to focus on the beauty of spring and not on the farce that is currently taking place in London.
I still do not dare to book the boat to Hull for the end of May, because I don't think it would be fun if a No Deal is reality a few days earlier.

Beautiful pictures of this flowering tree. The cherry tree in my little garden also starts to blossom, but so far, it only has 5 or 6 flowers.
The bly sky behind give the whole picture and even more sunny look. Thanks for sharing.

Judging by your three beautiful photographs, Spring really has sprung in Plymouth!

I've looked at all three images carefully, trying to decide which one I prefer, but have finally come to the conclusion that they are all wonderful, each one a tribute to these beautiful blossoms as well as the glorious Spring light, your photographic skills and the amazing quality of images which we now see from mobile 'phones.

Lovely soft light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

marvelous the effects of light in the flowers, the light created a softness that permitted us to explore the shapes of the flowers, in full light these details would be lost. very beautiful.

Beautiful - blossom really does show that spring is here although there has been some very cold weather in the south of England in the last few days! I like the centre of focus on just a few flowers with the rest nicely out of focus in the background.
